The Show is POWER… Insight and Update
By Jeffrey J. Cadet
Ghost is free and finally gets to sleep in his own bed. His slaughter of CO Williams still haunts him at night. Once a killer always a killer right Ghost? Ghost tries to reconcile with Tasha who is reluctant at best. Tasha still won’t sleep in the same bed as her estranged cheater of a husband. Can’t blame her Ghost.
The opening has Ghost trading in his flashy orange jumpsuit for is usual dapper Tom Ford Suit ensemble. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back Owner of Truth Nightclub, James St. Patrick. After arriving at Truth for the first time in a while, his arch nemesis, Simon Sterns, paid a visit to James shows up to collect his loan. Collect? Yes, collect a loan that Ghost said no to..
So Tasha took a secret loan for an undisclosed amount from the sly Mr.Stern. Remember, the Feds froze all their accounts during James’ incarceration. A staggered Ghost can’t believe it.
Credit to the devious Mr. Stern. But, James wants no parts of this. Of course Mr. Stern is full of surprises. As an alternate method to paying him back, he offers James an opportunity. Stern needs a minority to be the face of his next real estate endeavor for a nice tax write off and good publicity.
What a guy and a real businessman. You can call him a conman, call him whatever, but the guy has bravado and something else.
Meanwhile, Tommy is in Chicago laughing it up with the Eastern Europeans who want Ghost dead. Tommy refuses to kill his lifelong comrade and friend, even if it means greater opportunity for him. Love the loyalty Tommy. The Eastern Europeans actually planned to “off” Tommy after filling him with vodka. Instead, they kill one of their own who turned out to be a snake.
While in the Midwest, Tommy tracks down an uncle of Holly. RIP. Her realtor uncle is having a open house lets Tommy into the showing as if he is a prospective buyer.
Apparently, this uncle was the one who sexually abused 9 year old Holly. After admitting to it unmercifully, Tommy goes Mark McGwire on his head in the living room with a Louisville slugger. I’m pretty sure the value of that home decreased after that.
While all this is happening, Julio who gets “set up” by Dre. So badly, that he walks into his own demise. The people Julio used to run with relentlessly cut him up like a piece of meat and even cut his infamous ‘718’ tattoo off his neck.
Good guy Julio is left in a pool of his own blood. He's in terrible shape, but hopefully, this isn't the last of him.
Kanan finally catches his Ghost. The look on James’ face when Kanan runs up behind him outside of Truth was priceless. It was like he was the one that saw the ghost. No pun intended.
Kanan lets Ghost know that his son Tyriek is being held hostage by his heartless sociopath crooked cop of a cousin Jukebox at a house in Queens. Ghost forcibly has to drive to save Tyriek with Kanan to Queens in what had to be the longest drive of his life. While driving, he has to grapple with the fact that in the passenger seat was a man he thought was dead and now had the barrel of a pistol on his temple.
First, Kanan has to be paid. So, they went where the money was held and they robbed Tommy’s stash spot. Kanan executes one of Tommy’s henchmen much to Ghost’s dismay. Karan has always been a money first itchy trigger finger type of guy. What did you expect Ghost?
When they get to where Tyriek is being held, Ghost is clearly emotional as Jukebox has her gun pointed at 16 year old Tyriek’s head. She runs her mouth calling Ghost some real unpleasant things like a snake for getting her cousin Kanan locked for 10 years.
What she didn’t know was that earlier in the car ride Ghost reveals that he had to either kill Kanan or send him away so he could build his empire as Kanan was still stuck in the street life.
Ghost wanted to desperately separate himself from all of that so he had a tough choice to make. And, he made it. Jukebox then forces Kanan to reveal his real identity to Tyriek before she kills both Ghost and his oldest child. Kanan actually had a connection with Tyriek like an uncle nephew type of thing.
Kanan also reveals to them that he killed his own son Shawn, who Tyriek had developed a close bond. After all these confessions, and gun pointing, Kanan has had enough and pops Jukebox 3 times. Lol this guy loves to kill family members.
After whacking his whacky cousin, he runs out the house. Ghost and Tyriek embrace.
Now, lots of questions remain. Is Kanan soft? Is Julio dead? When is Dre going to get what he ultimately deserves? Will Ghost and Tyriek be normal again?
Guess we gotta wait another week.
