Football Signings at H. Frank Carey
The first Wednesday in February is National Signing Day for Division I
college football players across America. It was a very special day at H. Frank Carey High School, as All-Long Island football players Anthony Catapano and Michael Catanese signed their letters of intent with Stony Brook and Cornell, respectively.
News 12 sports anchor Jamie Stewart attended the signing with a camera
crew, making the day more memorable. Anthony and Michael were both
interviewed and will be highlighted on News 12 Long Island’s Sports Rush Show.
Both of these young men were major award winners as well. Catapano won the
Martone Award, given to the best lineman in Nassau County, and Catanese won the Don Snyder Award, given to the best quarterback in Nassau County.
Players’ parents, coaches, counselors and school administrators attended the
ceremony. The cornerstones of Carey’s back-to-back Rutgers Cup teams look
forward to even greater college football careers.
